MyAlbum is a company with deep Frisian roots that has grown into an internationally recognised platform for photo sharing and storytelling. Founded in 2003 under the name MijnAlbum, the company was established with the goal of making it easier for people to share their cherished memories in the form of digital albums with family and friends. At the time, digital cameras were becoming increasingly popular, but there were few simple and secure ways to organize and share photos online. Many people still relied on physical prints or cumbersome email attachments to distribute their pictures, leading to a demand for a more seamless solution. MyAlbum set out to fill this gap create an intuitive platform that allowed users to compile, customize, and privately share their photo albums in just a few clicks.

Over the years, as technology evolved and smartphones revolutionized photography, MyAlbum adapted to the changing landscape by enhancing its features, offering cloud storage, and incorporating smart tools for storytelling. We understand that you want to restrict the amount of services you create accounts for as much as possible. Therefore it is possible to create an account with MyAlbum using Facebook or Google. If you don’t (want to) use any of these services you can also create an account with MyAlbum directly.

MyAlbum facilitates sharing albums through your favorite social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp, of course you can easily share your albums via email or embed them on your own website or blog for example. This means MyAlbum has outsourced the actual sharing process and does not store any data related to this; we can’t answer the question “Who can see my albums?” after you have shared them. However MyAlbum does maintain a database of interactions on your album like bookmarking, commenting, or Liking photos or videos. In some cases it may be that other users or the owner will be notified of such interactions.

MijnAlbum BV keeps your personal information no longer than necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We use the following storage times for the following (categories) of personal data:
